Disney & Universal

Well we did ground hog day on Sunday after 14 very slow hours on the plane and no sleep had by either of us. I think that we were too excited...

We checked into our hotel and made the 5 min walk straight down to Disney. After negotiating the huge crowds and working out how to use Fast Pass (take a ticket and come back later to avoid a 60 minute wait). It has been awesome but everything takes so long, patience is a virtue.

Monday we went to Universal studios which if you can imagine Warner Bros on Steriods you might get a close idea of what this is like. Our highlight was going on the tour through the main filming lots with heaps seen. Another highlight was the Waterworld Stunt show, crap movie but awesome show. We spent $30 each to get a Front of The Line Pass. Yes no waiting with the plebs, up to an hour for everything for them and straight into whatever we wanted for us. Pure Gold! We then went from Universal on the bus for a tour around Beverly Hills, Walk of Fame, Downtown LA. We realise that while it is an hour from Anaheim we need to come back. The two hour tour was gone in a flash and there were awesome looking things to do that we would like to see in person and not from driving through an intersection.

Today (Tuesday) has been Disney. In two days we have pretty much done the main attractions at both parks. Feet are tired and all we need to see now is the famous fireworks.

Retaining Wall

Well with all the focus on going to America and with everything packed I found myself marking time a little bit so today I went outside to see if I could upgrade my handy man skills from Novice to Beginner.

I was able to get all the retaining wall sleepers in today and if I must say so myself it looks pretty good. Now we just need to do the path and garden bed and we are secure of a dog escaping.

We absolutely love beagles and before long Lulu will have a companion.

Christmas

Hi All,

Well we made the trek over to Mount Gambier for Christmas and we had a ball. Christmas in our house was always going to be dull this year given we are going to America in a couple of days for a huge holiday (which we are extremely excited about), so it was nice to catch up with Cam's olds, Chris and Steve. On Christmas eve, Steve took us out on a farm where we rode quad bikes and Cam nearly decapitated himself by riding through an unseen fence....We fixed up the damage and then we both went and rounded up 250 cows ready for milking, ala Nicole Kidman and HIgh Jackman in Australia!

Merry Christmas and next time you hear from us we will be in the states, probably at Disney with Jane eating fairy floss...
